Thelma Wayman Fellowship Hall and Culinary Center
History –
“May the work I’ve done speak for me” was the mantra and philosophy of Sister Thelma G Wayman. “Mom Putt”, as she was affectionately known by family and friends alike, lived by this statement. Sister Wayman tirelessly served her family, church and community. She was always “brainstorming” as she would say to find new and creative ways to do things. She was always willing and eager to lend a hand to help someone or work to solve any issues. As a devoted member of Allen she served on the Steward board, Trustee board, Usher board, and was a driving force that anchored the kitchen committee. Mom Putt truly loved Allen an that along with her beautiful spirit shined brightly in all that she did. Allen’s fellowship hall and culinary center was dedicated in her honor on August 2 ND , 2014.
Sis. Wayman went home to glory in 2015 and her works truly did speak for her. Her legacy of hard work and dedication inspire those who were fortunate to know her.
